For those that have studied NLP (neuro linguistic programming) or remain a little curious about the patterns there are times when certain techniques are not applicable to certain individuals in certain given contexts.
That’s why NLP is the study of the structure of subjective experience and not a ‘one hat fits all.’
Similarly, you may come up against unconscious resistance with your clients when you hope to move from present to desired state quickly but on a deep level the person feels fear, has a secondary gain, or just isn’t ready to embrace the change in one go.
